15 Things A Bride need to have in her Wedding Survival Kit!
A handyman need his tools, a surgeon need his scalpel and a bride? A wedding survival kit, of course! To stay ahead of any mishaps, putting together a bag of emergency essentials can make or break your moment. Leave the bag with your matron of honour or one of your bridesmaid, let them know the contents in the bag as well so they are able to anticipate and pass you one of the item you need.
1. Lipstick
You may or may not have engage a professional make up artist but keep two different shades of your lipsticks in the bag so that you don’t have to keep running back and fro to reapply your lipstick. One light shade and one dark one will have contrasting effect on your overall makeup thus creating different look.
2. Baby Powder
This goes in between your legs to prevent them from chaffing as you walked down the aisle. Bridal gowns are made of layers and layers of saffron, lace and satin, they are heavy and they are thick. You’ll be sweating in your gown. Toss in a bottle of baby powder and you’ll thank me later.
3. Water Spray
No matter your wedding is in summer or winter, water mist spray is a must. In summer for your skin to stay hydrated and in winter, you need it even more to moisturize your skin, prevent dryness from the cold.
4. Sewing Kit and Safety pins
For the minor tears at the hem of your dress, or simply to tighten your gown because you have been losing too much weight.
5. Medical Plasters
For those pair of sparkly new shoes! Ouch! You don’t want your face to be winching at every step you take.
6. Wet Wipes
Multi-functional wet wipes to wipe off your lipstick so that you can reapply a new shade or to quickly wipe off the stains off the dress or to wipe the sweat off your husband’s forehead under the sweltering summer heat in a suit.
7. White Chalk
Any stains that couldn’t be wipe off, can be covered by rubbing white chalk on the stain so that it doesn’t show up during photo taking.
8. Allergy medication
Weddings can be very stressful, combined with food that doesn’t agree with you, you might have allergy reactions. If it is a small one, down a couple of allergy meds and your symptoms might be more tolerable until end of the day.
9. Pain Reliever medication
Same goes for a pounding headache. You do want to have the first dance with your husband in front of the live band, don’t you?
10. Eye drops / Extra pair of contact lenses
You will be crying that day, or at least tearing up with joy. If it is not you, then it will be your dad. Having these handy will ensure no red blotchy eyes when the photographer comes around to take family photos.
11. Blotting Paper
You want to sparkle under the stars, not shine with oil on your nose! Blot the extra oil every now and then. Get your bridesmaid to remind you.
12. Hair Spray
Unless your hair stylist uses a pile of hair wax, your hair will start to droop at two-thirds into the wedding. Having a mini hair spray means your hair is never out of place. You can even share it with your husband!
13. Cereal bars
The air kisses, the wide smile, the ‘thank you for coming’, bright flashing bulbs from the camera, all these will zap up energy. To keep yourself from fainting of hunger, keep a couple of these.
14. Straws
Using a straw keeps your lips looking photo-ready all day.
15. Portable Battery
No wedding will be completed without taking selfie with everyone. Plus incoming well wishes from friends who are unable to attend. And you’ll be sure you won’t be the first one (or the last!) to upload your wedding photo on Facebook. So juice up that iPhone of yours!
