Homestead Modern No. 1 venue
Homestead Modern No. 1 venue
Homestead Modern No. 1, the first of a new line of unique homes, is located in Pioneertown, the quirky Mojave Desert community. Pioneertown was built by the Hollywood studios after World War II and today is known as much for its spectacular high desert scenery and noted musical roadhouse Pappy & Harriet’s as it is for its movie and TV heritage.

Homestead Modern No. 1 features a one-bedroom, one-bath "main" house with a kitchen, living and dining area and a separate one-bedroom, one-bath detached casita. Both the main house and the casita offer private outdoor showers as well as indoor showers. Each bedroom has a California king bed. Both structures are steel framed and have lots of glass. They were designed by architect Andreas M. Larisch.
